On January 13th sunspot AR2257 produced an M5-Class solar flare at 4:24 UT.
UV radiation from the flare ionized Earth's atmosphere above Australia, Indonesia and Thailand. Frequencies below 10 MHZ may have had a short black out.
No significant CME was seen on Nasa's Solar and Heliospheric Observatory, which means there was NO Earth collision. Rare chance of Geomagnetic Storms.
AR 2257 is Beta-Gamma-Delta and NOAA Forecasts a 40% chance of M-Class flares and a 10% chance of an X-Class flare.
